University of Central Florida is Hiring a Contracts & Grants Specialist II Near Orlando, FL

The Opportunity :
UCF's College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) is seeking applicants for a Contracts and Grants Specialist II. This position will provide pre-award administration support to the faculty and staff of CCIE with the Research Administration Services Team. This assignment includes, but not limited to, the preparation and review of proposals leading to submission, budgets, and other proposal-related documents, and working as a liaison with the Office of Research (OR).
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director, Principal Investigators, and their teams to develop proposals for official submission.
  • Submit proposals through Huron for internal review and approval prior to submission; including create single, multiple and cost share budgets, coordinate any compliance issue and address any comments, changes prior to official submission to ensure that proposals are accurate, complete, and in full compliance with sponsor and university policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Develop single and multiple (Co-PIs) project budgets, subaward and cost share budgets. Prepare budget justifications for proposals in compliance to UCF and sponsor regulations.
  • Initiate subawards, consultant and contracts with community partners to prepare commitment forms, statements of work, budgets and budget justifications that comply with UCF and sponsor guidelines.
  • Submit and review incoming award documents, contracts and non-financial agreements and respond to OR compliance questions and account set-up requests.
  • Develop and format bio sketches of key personnel involved in a grant project in accordance with the format requirements of the specific funding agency.
  • Assists in the development, coordination, and administration of college research workshops for faculty, staff and graduate students.
  • Contributes to the development of policies and procedures for the Research Administration Services Team in collaboration with the senior leadership staff.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Experience in pre-award services and/or submission of grants to federal agencies.
  • Experience in research administration best practices.
  • Familiarity with Uniform Guidance and/or other federal regulations.
  • Experience using sponsor portals including NSF, NIH, and grants.gov.
  • Experience with completing work tasks in compliance with Federal regulations as they relate to grants.
  • Experience in a higher education institutional setting that includes proposal preparation/grant/research administration assignments.
