This position works a hybrid remote format (2-3 days on site), requiring a telecommuting agreement and adherence to the UCSC Telecommuting/Remote Work Guidelines. The employee shall be available in a full-time capacity during assigned telecommuting work hours (specific hours to be discussed with supervisor). While telecommuting/remote working, the employee is responsible for ensuring a worksite environment suitable for accomplishing their regular job duties during scheduled hours of work and, if applicable, arranging for dependent care just as they would if they were working at the regular UCSC worksite.
NOTIFICATIONS
UC Vaccination Policy: With limited exceptions, COVID-19 vaccinations are required for Covered Individuals under the Policy. Covered Individuals include all employees, students, or trainees who physically access a University facility or program in connection with their employment, appointment, or education/training.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Marketing department works in close partnership with the Student Services department, which serves as the main point of contact for student interaction and support regarding Extension courses and programs. The Student Services department also overlaps with prospective students and inquiries. The marketing recruiting function focuses on engaging with prospective students through automated and personalized processes and communications, outbound reach, and moving them through the funnel to enrollment to help generate new students for UCSC Silicon Valley Extension.

JOB SUMMARY
Uses sales concepts, marketing automation, processes, communication and outreach in performing sales activities for programs and product offerings. Uses skills and knowledge to bring prospective students through the sales funnel. Demonstrates ongoing understanding of industry practices, service and product offerings, and organization policies and procedures. Develops and provides reporting on the status and outcomes of sales activities.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
Budgeted Salary: $32.57 - $37.36 / Hourly. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.

JOB DUTIES
40% - Sales
  • Oversees the sales funnel/cycle process; follows up on marketing leads with the goal of meeting identified goals; oversees the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool and processes; provides sales information and status of sales efforts and/or the implementation of plans and strategies; provides recommendations to management.
20% - Conversions
  • Oversees tasks from inquiries, responds on a timely basis. Changes status and records outcomes. Outbound reach including calls and texts to engage with prospects to help move them through the funnel to the enrolled stage. Sets meetings. Provides ongoing status and feedback regarding potential customers by discussing their needs and explaining how these needs could be met by specific products and services. Works in conjunction with student services.
15% - Communications
  • Creates forms to capture different types of contact information. Builds workflows for each segmented audience. Creates emails as part of the automated sequences and keeps those updated. Works with scripts and FAQs to give consistent and accurate information. Supports promotional event communications and other marketing communications through Hubspot as needed.
10% - Reporting and Data
  • Downloads contacts from enrolled student platform and integrates into CRM weekly. Creates and updates dashboards and reports to share weekly and quarterly results. Supports report builds for program managers to track more specific areas of study. investigates new opportunities through Hubspot functions by staying updated. Brings valuable knowledge from contact with prospects to the department to help improve customer experience and identify FAQs. Uploads events data if sourced outside of Hubspot. Troubleshoots if issues arise from email delivery or data collection on forms.
10% - Special Projects
  • Provides direct support to department leadership on special projects.
5% - Other projects as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Demonstrated analytical and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication and political acumen skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in customer service and customer satisfaction.
  • Working knowledge of a CRM tool (e.g. HubSpot, SalesForce, Marketo, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and work efficiently in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, manage and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Working knowledge of the organization, including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives and infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of the organization's products and services and related industries.
  • Knowledge of communication principles and lead generation methods.
  • Proven sales experience and ability to manage pipeline, forecast and achieve sales targets, ability to improve the sales process.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
