University of California San Francisco is Hiring a Worker's Compensation and Ergonomics Analyst Near San Francisco, CA

Workers’ Compensation Benefits:

  • Assists with communication of the organization's Workers’ Compensation benefits and/or leave of absence programs under supervision.
  • Assists injured employees in navigating and understanding Workers' Compensation benefits, leaves of absence, HBS timesheet coding, and UCpath extended sick leave supplemental pay processes.

Workers’ Compensation Claims Entry Process:

  • Performs entry-level duties in the field of Workers’ Compensation/Return-to-Work under supervision.
  • Enters Workers’ Compensation claims into the system.
  • Updates work statuses in the claims system and helps prepare Transitional Work Plans for modified work.
  • Prepares correspondence and communicates with injured workers.

Other Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Helps maintain modified duty placement metrics.
  • Works collaboratively to prioritize and complete multiple assignments on time.
  • Assists the Ergonomics team with the equipment ordering process.

The hourly compensation range for this role is $26.68-$56.75. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate, position requirements, AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Required Qualifications

  • Acquires analytical skills to conduct and develop recommendations and demonstrates organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Acquiring knowledge of organization policies and procedures and knowledge of functional areas.
  • Demonstrated skill in conducting limited analysis and in writing and speaking clearly and effectively.
  • Experience working with diverse populations who may be in crisis and/or needing time-sensitive responses to information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to generate correspondence, create reports, and build presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and diplomatically both in person and over the phone required.
  • Associate in Arts (AA) or Bachelors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for generating correspondence, creating reports, and building presentations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and diplomatically both in person and over the phone
  • Basic knowledge of the employee benefits function and other areas of human resources
  • Basic knowledge of applicable state and federal law
  • Experience working with HIPAA-protected information and knowledge of medical terminology
  • Prior healthcare experience
