DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Office of Loan Programs designs, delivers and manages housing assistance programs for the recruitment and retention of faculty and senior managers in support of the education, research and public service missions of the University of California. We strive to maintain superior customer satisfaction by providing timely, accurate and cost-effective mortgage products, researching new product alternatives and evaluating industry processes and changes to continually improve delivery of services. POSITION SUMMARY
Uses advanced professional knowledge of mortgage loan accounting and servicing to complete complex accounting and reconciliation issues. Works on issues where analysis of data requires an in- depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Contacts are both internal and external to the department at many levels of the organization.
Responsibilities

  • Monitors property insurance renewals and enters into the Servicing system.
  • Using system software, gathers data for monthly allocation report to management.
  • Compiles payroll deduction authorization forms for processing by management.
  • Manages workflow of on-going servicing tasks while managing multiple competing priorities and other duties as assigned.
  • Gathers data to update Resale Indices report.
  • Performs property tax collection issues according to University guidelines. Analyzes tax delinquency reports from vendor and notifies borrowers of delinquencies to ensure payment of taxes. Contacts borrowers regarding payment delinquencies
Required Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of loan servicing and accounting procedures, and extensive experience working in the mortgage lending industry or related field.
  • Advanced experience managing complex accounting and reconciliation processes.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills to present information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Advanced user of common desktop and web applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of mortgage industry loan servicing systems.
  • Past experience and advanced knowledge with institutional lending, and FNMA / FHLMC secondary market practices and procedures.
  • Advanced ability to perform policy and operational analyses. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate ideas and issues clearly and concisely in a direct, cooperative, patient, and courteous manner. Incorporates effective listening skills. Is diplomatic and strives to be helpful in all situations. Performs other projects and duties as needed.
Education
Bachelor's degree and / or equivalent experience/training.
