University of California - Los Angeles Health is Hiring a Surgical Tech - Surgery Center Near Los Angeles, CA

Description

Under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse within the Operating Room, the Surgical Tech completes surgical set-ups according to department standards. The Surgical Tech ensures and is responsible for the care of the patient in the surgical suite, and is responsible for the surgical instrumentation and the preparation of supplies and equipment used, as well as other related duties. Duties include anticipating patient needs at the sterile field, related to preparing for all supplies, instruments and equipment. The Surgical Tech is responsible for implementing knowledge of aseptic technique, practices related to prevention of retained foreign objects, safe medication labeling and handling, anticipatory skills related to the sequence of the procedure, and safe specimen handling.

Qualifications

We're seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated professional with:

*Must have surgical technician certification from an accredited school or program,required.

*At least one year of experience in an acute care facility with experience in all surgical procedures,required.

*Ability to move heavy objects, apply aseptic technique to use a variety of operating instruments and equipment.

*Ability to handle equipment carefully and safely, and stand for a long period of time.

*Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
