DescriptionThe Microbiology Lab is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Per Diem. In this key role, you will assist with a variety of technical procedures within the Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Mycology and Parasitology sections of the Brentwood Annex. Primary responsibilities include:*Perform urine cultures, blood cultures, gram stains, fungal stains, BD Max PCR*Troubleshoot laboratory instruments*Reagent preparation Note: this is a per diem position primarily assigned to work the weekend shift.May convert to career.Salary Range: $66.86-$66.86/hour

Qualifications*A current, California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS) or a Clinical Microbiology Scientist (CMS)*Bachelor's degree*Must have a minimum of at least two years of current technical and practical experience in bacteriology, mycology, mycobacteriology, and /or parasitology*Strong educational background and advanced training in Microbiology*Demonstrated working knowledge of current instrumentations: BD Bactec FX and bioMerieux Vitek 2 and MS systems, Centrifuges, Water Baths, Analytical Balance, Fume hood, Biological Safety Cabinet, Incubator*Skilled in using a computer
