Position Summary:
The mission of the Cross Cultural Center is to be a space for students to imagine and inspire and equitable, socially just campus, to affirm and develop intersectional, cultural identities, and to build a more inclusive community. The Cross Cultural Center's core values are: Activism, Social Justice, Community, Education, Empowerment, and Diversity.
Under the general supervision of the Director of the Cross-Cultural Center (CCC), the Program Coordinator acts as one of the main programmers for the CCC. The Program Coordinator is directly responsible for coordinating co-curricular programs related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. This includes overseeing bi-weekly or weekly program series', alumni engagement programs, leadership programs such as the Volunteer Program, and student organization advising for all five (5) Umbrella Organizations. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the second coordinator to also assist in all collaborative events with other departments. In conjunction with the Director, The Program Coordinator will primarily assist with the advisement, professional development, risk management and liability advising for the umbrella organizations in the Cross-Cultural Center. The Program Coordinator will co- supervise a student program coordinator and a student umbrella organization coordinator. The Program Coordinator also assists with overseeing scholarships and financial funds managed by the Cross Cultural Center including available funds for affiliated and umbrella organizations.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
  • Skills in service orientation, active listening, critical thinking.
  • Abilities in problem identification, reasoning.
  • Ability to multi-task, verbal communication, written communication and organization skills.
Preferred:
  • Master's degree
  • Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
  • Knowledge of University processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of University rules and regulations.
  • Interpersonal skills.
