University of California Davis is Hiring a RSCH GNT PRG OFCR 3 (CA State Manager) Near Davis, CA

Under general direction, supports KSMP’s outreach, training and leadership within the field of shelter medicine by serving as a technical and community engagement leader for the California for All Animals support and grants program (CA4AA) with a five-year goal that no healthy or treatable animal is euthanized at a California shelter. Works closely across the Outreach Team and California State team to coordinate and implement a grant and technical assistance program with California Shelters.

RECRUITMENT
PERIOD: Post for one month. Applicants will be screened after two weeks; and then on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee is personally responsible for following health and safety guidelines/instructions.
May work with or around areas with sounds, smells, sick animals, hazardous materials, infectious, and/or zoonotic diseases commonly found in animal shelters.
May work in high traffic areas with potentially constant noise from animals and people in a fast-paced environment in confined or small spaces.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required
:
Advanced degree OR equivalent experience/training.
At least 4 years experience managing projects or programs.
Experience with data collection, analysis and reporting.
At least 2 years of experience in Animal Services in any capacity.
Demonstrable Leadership skills to handle sensitive or difficult situations diplomatically and to work effectively, positively and sensitively with constituents from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills used for public speaking and other communications to effectively communicate ideas in a professional and pleasant manner with a diverse population within the unit, campus, clients, vendors, outside funding agencies and general public. Including writing and editing skills to compose letters, email communications, newsletter articles and information, reports and other documents (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Preferred
:
Experience and knowledge of animal shelter and field services trends specific to the state of California.
Experience giving and/or monitoring grant funds.
Experience with any of the following systems: Asana, Notion, SalesForce, Chameleon, PetPoint or similar.
