University of California- Davis Health is Hiring an Ast Clin Rsch Crd OR Clin Rsch Crd Near Sacramento, CA

Under direction, this position will work closely with the study staff by supporting the day-to-day basic functions of the department's clinical research trials and other studies in adherence to University, federal, and sponsor guidelines for the purpose of ensuring smooth, accurate progress of clinical studies from the planning and approval stages through study completion and post-study closure. The incumbent assists with preparing and prepares documentation for submission for review by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), recruits and screens study participants, coordinates their clinical treatment and follow-up care, and helps facilitate their continued participation; abstracts data from medical records and other sources; collects, submits and maintains study data and regulatory documents; develops and ensures compliance with study protocols; and participates in the planning, development and budgeting for clinical studies.

Based on qualifications, selected candidate may be hired at either an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator or Clinical Research Coordinator

Department Description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a School of Medicine academic/clinical department of approximately 32 faculty members, 30 Volunteer Clinical Professors, 6 Staff Physicians, 28 Residents, and approximately 95 staff members. The department is responsible for research, education and clinical service.

Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in creating and maintaining electronic databases.
  • Ability to independently complete mandatory training as determined by the study protocols or human research protection training guidelines.
  • Ability to learn human specimen processing techniques and specimen shipping procedures.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate and correspond with department faculty and clinical staff, external University administrators, study sponsors, study participants, patients, caregivers, other health care professionals, and the general public.
  • Ability to manage organized files. Ability to independently create reports, forms, tables and correspondence using correct grammar spelling and punctuation.
  • Ability to clearly document research data on tables, forms and other documents.
  • Excellent computer skills including all the Microsoft Office Programs (Work, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and use of the internet.
  • Ability to self-train to quickly learn new computer programs as needed.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to analyze and interpret data, regulatory requirements and policies.
  • Ability to appropriate establish workload priorities. Ability to work independently with minimal direction and to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain composure under stress for effective performance and under such pressure as heavy workload, conflicting priorities, frequent interruptions and other demands. Ability to identify and alert supervisor to potential or ongoing problems.
  • Self motivation, the ability to prioritize and take direction from multiple leaders.
  • Adheres to work schedule, begins work promptly and takes breaks appropriately.
  • Foster a positive team environment with faculty and staff, ensure a professional office image.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior related experience as a Research Coordinator or equivalent in a medical or science related setting with skills to include an understanding of GCP guidelines, data reporting, and IRB submissions/interactions.
  • Prior experience in areas related to miscarriage, abortion and contraceptive research.
  • Knowledge of Obstetrics and Gynecology as applied to clinical research.
