The Haas Academic Planning and Instruction team manages the operational aspects of the curriculum for our six degree programs. This encompasses the yearly curriculum lifecycle of making decisions on course offerings, staffing courses with both faculty and GSI/Reader support, coordinating and scheduling courses, managing student enrollment processes, and ultimately administering and reporting course evaluations.
We are a service-focused team and use feedback and lessons-learned to start each cycle with improvements and optimizations for our colleagues and customers.

Responsibilities
Reconciles large volumes of student data from multiple sources, including the campus student information system, as well as local Haas databases. Identifies, reports and resolves mismatches and errors. Interprets regulations and develops, recommends, or enacts procedures to ensure compliance and accurate student record maintenance and services. Analyzes a variety of student record factors and applies working knowledge of federal, state, University, and outside agency laws, regulations, and policies to determine student record outcomes. Works with program office staff to report and resolve campus enrollment and records issues. Develops and implements registrar core functions such as degree audits, transcript activities, residency, grading etc. Identifies and implements database elements, queries, and reports needed to monitor programs. This includes using both campus database systems (such as CalCentral and CalAnswers) as well as internal Haas database systems and applications. Participates in decision-making and testing process regarding the development and maintenance of internal Haas student record and enrollment systems. Periodically recommends new or revised internal practices and procedures based on changes in policy or to enhance business processes.

Required Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of particular Registrar core functions (e.g., degree requirements, special enrollment, veterans' benefits, and residency). Thorough knowledge of policies, regulations, and practices with student records services. Thorough knowledge of and/or can quickly learn University policies, processes, and procedures and of Federal and California laws pertaining to the privacy rights of students and access to student information. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines across multiple co-equal projects and programs. Ability to apply thorough knowledge of policies to a variety of individual situations. Can recommend procedures to ensure compliance in a diverse learning community. Strong problem identification, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; judgment and decision-making ability. Ability to assess processes and implement improvements. Utilizes excellent constituent service skills with all interactions. Strong ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with campus departments, UC campuses, and external agencies. Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to use complex databases. Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a desire to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with colleagues, students and team members. Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and productivity software.
Salary & Benefits
This is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt career position, which is paid monthly and eligible for full UC Benefits.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $66,700.00 - $84,600.00.
