Departmental Overview
The Center for Educational Partnerships (CEP) is the primary department on the UC Berkeley campus charged with developing and implementing programs and strategies to improve academic preparation, expand educational opportunities, and ensure access to higher education for low-income and educationally disadvantaged students. Working in partnership with local schools and communities, CEP improves academic achievement and expands post-secondary educational opportunities for students who face significant barriers to college.

Responsibilities
RESEARCH & POLICY ANALYSIS
Researches, analyzes, and advises on integrating campus and UC policies within the organization, especially as it relates to long and short-term planning for the organization, especially around stewardship of funding and expected goals and outcomes.
Primarily deals with K-14 education policies, programs, and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Works with the Executive Director to support the Bay Area Regional K-16 Collaborative and other high-level K-14 collaborations to plan and implement projects based on fund source requirements, program needs, and campus or system-wide policies or procedures.
Performs subject matter research, analyzes data and information, provides summary analyses, and recommends needed actions and issues for the Executive Director to aid in quality decision-making.
Conducts statewide and national demographic research on underserved student academic preparation and graduation.
Identifies potential risks and responds accordingly by identifying and recommending a plan and controls during the year-round administration of the SAPEP programs.
Makes high-level contacts of a sensitive nature, internally and externally, requiring discretion and diplomacy in order to negotiate with or persuade officials to adopt the proposed solution or program/process recommendations.
Leads and/or participates in policy and planning committees and working groups.
Researches and summarizes best practices in the field.
Prepares written reports of actions taken and decisions made for dissemination.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Manages multiple projects, including the logistics, budgeting, and registration processes for various events sponsored by the unit, including the Counselor Symposium, Transfer and Freshman Yield events with OUA, College Access & Outreach activities, CalPrep, community-building events, parent/student engagement activities, and endeavors associated with the revenue-generating Products & Services unit, and the UCOP's Student Academic Preparation and Educational Partnerships (SAPEP) programs.
Supports the coordination of professional development webinars and access to college advising online courses to partner school districts and staff.
Coordinate training and school site support so that administrators and staff increase their use of Transcript Evaluation Service (TES) to support SAPEP goals of providing direct college advising services with our partner schools.
Support the coordination and implementation of the K-16 Collaborative including meetings and convenings. Engage K-16 Collaborative partners in both subregional and Bay Area-wide meetings and convenings.
Act as the main liaison for CEP partner school Aspire Cal Prep by coordinating partner meetings, supporting the college-going culture, and supporting the planning of events for Aspire Cal Prep students on the Berkeley campus.
Work with the Director of Training & Curriculum to update content on lesson plans, handouts, and decks.
Work with our 11 CEP programs to ideate strategies to increase family engagement services.
Facilitate CEP-wide Parent Engagement Sessions.
Along with the Director of Training & Curriculum, support the creation and management of courses on Canvas.
Update content provided by the Director of Training & Curriculum on online platforms, allowing and regulating proprietary access per business agreements.
ADMINISTRATION
Management of yearly Credit Card Security Policy attestation. Working with Merchant Support to audit payments through the portal, reconciliation of ledger transactions against receipts, manage payments of payees, including refunds and receipts, providing event codes to partner schools.
Distribution of event materials (invitations) to events and follow-up with logistics to listserv per event.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of constituents, including UCOP, other institutions of higher education, student groups, external community-based organizations, and campus units.
Maintains a functional list of partners both internal and external to the University requiring a high level of discretion and diplomacy.
Collects and prepares data and other information for use in meetings of high-level management, stakeholders, and external constituents.
OTHER
Support the Culture and Community Building Committee and CEP Professional Development events.
Coordinates and/or attends special events/projects independently, as needed.
Required Qualifications
Deep experience with presenting college knowledge information to a variety of different stakeholders including families and educators. Strong skills with Canva and other graphic design software/tools. Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development. Strong experience with virtual, hybrid, and in-person events. Highly organized, self-starter, and able to problem-solve independently. Strong collaborative and communications skills. Deep experience with project management. Familiarity with the organization's processes, protocols, and procedures. Knowledge of federal regulations such as FERPA. Thorough knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs. Solid analytical / problem-solving skills. Political acumen and sensitivities to the differing perspectives and political circumstances within all levels of the organization as well as the Office of the President and external constituencies. Strong service orientation. Strong skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, faculty, alumni/donors, students, and external constituencies, both verbally and in writing. Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Ability to use high-level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Solid skills in problem identification.
Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
Possess strong reading, writing, and speaking skills in Spanish.
Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), career position that is eligible for full UC benefits. This position is exempt and paid monthly. The annual salary for this role is commensurate with experience within the range of $67,000.00 - $93,100.00. This position is a full in-person role.
