The Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) and the Banatao Institute leverage the research strengths of the University of California campuses at Berkeley, Davis, Merced, and Santa Cruz, and operate within the greater ecosystem of the University and the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley. Responsibilities

May serve as "Department Access Key Controller" as defined by the UCPD Access Control Policy, maintaining accurate records of all access control activities, ensuring appropriate authority prior to issuing keys, ordering replacement keys as needed, recovering department keys from departing personnel, reporting any failure to recover access control keys to department management and UCPD, and securely storing unassigned keys in the department's UCPD-approved cabinets.
Coordinates access control and security efforts.
Sends access control weekly request for door schedules in all Sutardja Dai Hall and Blum Hall classrooms.

Purchases supplies, conducts bid proposals and supervises small-scale department renovation projects.
Ensure that work meets customer's requirements, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
Manage projects through to completion, including tracking change orders, regularly report project status to responsible faculty and administrative staff in departments.

May act as representative of organization safety committee, organization building emergency committee, and organization ergonomic program, and is responsible for departmental compliance with OSHA / EH&S regulations regarding state and organization policies and procedures and works to implement safety and emergency preparedness policies and procedures with staff, including maintaining first aid supplies, fire extinguishers and other safety equipment.
Conducts quarterly inspections of first aid supplies in both Sutardja Dai Hall and Blum Hall and orders and restocks supplies as needed.
Provides access for third party AED inspections and repairs.

Manages the Sutardja Dai room reservations system, confirms availability and provides access.
Responsible for making sure all event spaces are in safe operating condition.
Inspect rooms after each event ensuring equipment and furniture are put back in working order.
Contact users if room reservation policies and conditions are not me.
Ensures all campus event guidelines are followed.

Recharge, provides room usage details to the CITRIS Finance manager for billing.
Participates in annual review of room recharge rate calculations.
Provides clients estimates for room reservations and event services.

May act as Building Coordinator for organization emergency / disaster preparedness for assigned venues, serves as the communication liaison between organization service agencies and building occupants, and prepares building response plans and coordinates education and planning in this area for all building occupants.
Serve as Liaison between the occupants of Sutardja Dai Hall and Blum Hall and other campus entities such as Capital Projects, Facilities Services, EH&S, Campus Fire Marshal & Inspection Services.
Coordinates CPR/First Aid and AED training for staff in both Sutardja Dai Hall and Blum Hall as required by campus policy.

Conducts regular periodic rounds to inspect areas for security, fire and accident hazards and takes appropriate action as required, including reporting infractions of fire and building codes, building rules and other building irregularities to management.
Conducts rounds to inspect for facilities issues and initiates service requests for simple maintenance concerns such as if a light bulb goes out.

Works with management to coordinate and manage capital improvement projects with Capital Projects and actively participates on committees and / or meetings concerning capital improvements to departmental facilities.
Works with onsite contractors and other vendors to coordinate work schedules, facilitate emergency access, and track progress of work. Meets with end users to define project scope and project expectations.
Review and manage construction activities and resolving problems and/or conflicts as they arise.

Assists management in development of annual facilities budget.
Tacks and maintains facilities work order data and associated expenses to assist the Director of Facilities and Operations with budget forecasting.
Generates space invoices using building occupant data collected for annual space surveys.

Coordinates maintenance and repair of departmental equipment and is the building contact for vendors both maintenance and related to events.
Tracks work orders and follows up with vendors providing service as well as the building occupants requesting service.

Coordinates and carries out department signage, display, and promotional needs.
Installs both temporary and permanent building signage pertaining to events as well as notices regarding access interruptions.

Maintains and supervises distribution, security and maintenance of department radios.
Participates in monthly radio checks for both Sutardja Dai Hall and Blum Halls emergency response teams.
Acts as back up Incident Commander (IC) in the event the Director of Facilities and Operations is not present during a building emergency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Working knowledge of practices and procedures relating to facility maintenance.
Written communication skills to prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, policies and procedures, and training documents.
Skills to work under pressure of deadlines in a stressful environment.
Active listening, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills to effectively resolve questions, concerns, issues or problems and ensure cooperative and productive working relationships.
Skills to work independently and as part of a team.
Working organizational skills to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines, to establish goals and work load priorities, and to meet project deadlines within budget and time constraints.
Working knowledge of practices and procedures of safety and emergency preparedness.

This is a non-exempt position; the salary range is $51,700-$74,700 annually, commensurate with experience.
