Departmental Overview
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). We are currently seeking a Coordinator of Recruiting Operations who will work within the department's Men's Basketball team.

Responsibilities
The Coordinator, Recruiting Operations, manages all operations and logistical areas of recruiting prospective student-athletes for Men's Basketball. This includes maintenance of the team recruit database (JumpForward), assists with developing recruiting strategies, planning and executing the annual recruiting calendar, and coordinating all official visits. This position will assist the coaching staff throughout the recruitment process and work with other internal units (e.g. Compliance, Travel, Business & Finance, ASC, etc.) to manage all recruiting operations for the Men's Basketball program.
Oversee all aspects of Men's Basketball recruiting operations.
Responsible for maintaining the team's recruiting database (JumpForward) - ensure entries are correct, entered in a timely fashion, monitor number of contacts and evaluations from coaching staff, and resolve any questions or issues that arise.
Assist the coaching staff in the evaluation of prospective recruits, which includes producing regular prospect evaluation reports and close monitoring of prospects through scouting service reports and web-based content.
Organize the correspondence with and outreach to prospective student-athletes for Men's Basketball. Plan and execute the 75-week vision of Recruiting Calendar tool which records and memorializes our interactions with potential recruits (Mail, video, graphics, social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
Coordinate and plan all on-campus visits for prospective student-athletes and their families (itineraries, travel, hotels, hosts, meals, comp tickets, and meetings with coaches and Campus staff). This position will provide introduction to all campus and athletics facilities and answer campus and student-life related inquiries.
Together with the Men's Basketball coaching staff, this position will work to strategize best recruiting based on in-person, on-campus interactions with all visiting prospective student-athletes.
Oversees maintenance of files, database and reporting for area of responsibility.
Position will coordinate record keeping for all unofficial and official visits for NCAA compliance purposes and recruiting quality control. Monitor NCAA legislation changes and work collaboratively with recruiting staff to educate coaching staff and visiting prospects regarding new NCAA recruiting legislation.
Ensure all team recruiting activities are in compliance with NCAA & Pac-12 regulations. Complete and submit all required paperwork related to recruitment activities (e.g. Official Visits forms, expense reports, waivers, etc.).
Assist with the preparation of scouts, and game preps during season for preparation for opponents.
Assist with all Cal basketball student athletes once they have arrived and settled on campus to integrate with basketball and academic requirements.
Required Qualifications
3 years' experience within a Power 5 Intercollegiate Athletics men's basketball program.
Effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work and complete multiple tasks within demanding timeframes and with frequent interruptions.
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
Excellent computer skills and proficient in the use of graphic design software, recruiting applications, and other basic computer programs.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with internal and external constituents.
Ability to work and connect with people from differing backgrounds and experience
Demonstrated experience with organizing recruiting materials for coach evaluation, coordinating on-campus visits, recruiting applications, and an understanding of social media platforms.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the Pacific-12 Conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the Berkeley campus of the University of California adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $70,000 - $100,000
This is a 100% full-time (40 hours per week), 1 year contract position that is eligible for full UC benefits.
This position is exempt and paid monthly.
