Responsibilities
Apply advanced technical expertise and business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate and define complex systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
The incumbent will provide technical and functional expertise of the UCPath system and the interrelationship of WFA with other UCPath components in the following areas:
Analyze, troubleshoot and report to UCPath Center (UCPC) any technical issues, errors, or performance issues in HR-related modules identified by UCB UCPath users. Document technical issues in UCPC Service Now.
Present such issues to the UCPC Senior Management Team advocate for resolutions and make recommendations for process workarounds pending resolution.
Support and often lead testing efforts at UCB, work with UCPC and UCB partners to plan and execute unit integration and acceptance testing of system changes, fixes, and enhancements to UCPath HR and related components as issued by UCPC IT.
Work with UCB Central Offices and Regional Services team to identify system enhancements and fixes that can improve and streamline location transactional operations and business processes. Document requirements and submit them to UCPC/UCOP.
Provide direction and recommendations for People & Culture and other Campus partners in preparing and submitting Excel to CI files and other mass update tools to UCPC
Apply Project Management tools and practices to lead cross-functional teams working on complex business or systems issues.
Engage with key stakeholders (e.g., Regions, Payroll, Advisory Board) to improve local business processes and recommend new business tools.
Provide UCPath data to People & Culture for operational needs using campus and UCPath reporting tools.
Create ad hoc, and ongoing queries in SQL to run against DDODS for Campus operational and compliance needs.
Work with Campus applications consuming UCPath HR Data on troubleshooting integration issues and guidance on functional meaning/usage of UCPath WFA data.
Work with training resources to continually evaluate and improve UCPath related training, Job aids, and other documentation.
Lead UCPath security provisioning and AWE administration for UCB and work with local developers on provisioning applications/interfaces.

Required Qualifications
Requires advanced knowledge of business analysis functions.
Must have knowledge relating to the design of applications programs across the campus or the ability to learn quickly.
Requires knowledge of other related areas of IT.
Knowledge of department processes and procedures or the ability to learn quickly.
Requires advanced skills associated with programming design, modification, and implementation.
Requires interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Has skills needed to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
Experience assessing, designing, and implementing business processes and procedures by leveraging technology for optimal effectiveness.
Ability to quickly understand business process issues and able to gather the necessary information to document business/technical requirements in an evolving end-user environment.
Experience translating business information requirements into logical data models, diagrams, and use cases.
Experience creating mock-ups and iterations.
Ability to develop test plans and systematically execute end-user testing.
Experience designing reports to support and facilitate operational workflows and the detection of data integrity issues and system errors.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and common desktop/web applications.
Ability to work cooperatively with a team.
Strong time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Education/Training:
Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn UCPath and UC Berkeley HR/Payroll business processes and practices.
Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn Legacy HCM and PPS Data and table structure
Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn PeopleSoft WFA, TAM, Benefits, Payroll, Absence Management, Commitment Accounting, and Position Management Modules.
Familiarity with or ability to learn UC policies, processes, and practices.
Experience with large complex systems implementations and working with IT staff.
Salary & Benefits
This is an exempt, monthly paid position. The annual salary range of the position is commensurate with experience.
