Summary of Job Duties:The successful candidate will develop a planting plan, prepare seeds for planting, plant plots using a head row planter and cone seeder, field management, set up sprinkler irrigation systems, record disease data, harvest plots, grow and crossing, produce inoculum of various wheat pathogens and inoculate plants, maintain writing and electronic records for the wheat breeding program. They will manage facilities, supplies, and hourly workers, operate and equipment, e.g., driving a tractor. Infrequent overnight travel and pesticide application are required.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: B.S. in plant science or closely related area.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the field, greenhouse, and growth chamber management, including organizing and prioritizing studies based on available space and providing guidance for greenhouse users. Experience in operating and maintaining field and laboratory equipment such as tractors, planters, cold rooms, dryers, moisture meters, threshers, combines, etc. In addition, experience in collecting data from wheat varieties' phenotypic traits, using appropriate software such as excel files, and making inoculum for a disease is desirable.
