Summary of Job Duties:Performs complex analysis using various techniques, including statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, regression analysis, forecasting, and data mining to identify patterns in data and provides data interpretation for the Division of Student Affairs. Identifies data patterns and trends and provides insights to enhance decision making capability in planning, process improvement, and solution assessment. Develops reports to recommend strategies and plans that supports Divisional priorities and objectives. Identifies and implements methods that address improving processes and efficiencies. Recommends and implements actions for future developments, strategic institutional opportunities, and operational procedure enhancements. Reviews data & finalizes reports for data validity & accuracy. Projects may include building dashboards or reporting systems for end users, performing ad-hoc analyses and reporting to inform decision-making, designing predictive modeling, and creating data warehouses and schemas. Will provide support in supervising Data Analysts and Graduate Assistants and will report to the Director of Data Analysis and Reporting for the Division of Student Affairs
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field

  • Proven experience with statistical analysis, regression analysis, forecasting, and data mining

  • Expertise in data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau

  • Experience with data warehousing and schema creation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field

  • One to two years of experience creating compelling data visualizations that tell a story and facilitate deeper discussion

  • Experience with machine learning techniques and algorithms

  • Proficiency in PowerAutomate or creating automated workflows

  • Proficiency in Python programming for data analysis

  • Knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating relational databases

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of research methodology and the assessment cycle

  • Excellent writing and speaking skills; report writing and presentation skills for varied audiences

  • Strong organization and project management skills

  • Possess the ability to interpret and communicate statistical processes and findings to a diverse audience with varying levels of data acumen

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent analytical, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to quickly assimilate to specific software

  • Strong mathematical and technical ability

  • Ability to quickly assimilate how data sets impact related systems and functions

  • Ability to manage data through Excel, SAS, PowerBI, R, SPSS and/or other programs

  • Possess the ability to effectively analyze and find relationships in large data sets for thepurpose of developing and implementing new strategies and procedures, and an ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.

Salary Information:

$68,000 - $70,000
