Department's Website:Summary of Job Duties:The Lab Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations and administrative functions of the CON IPC (College of Nursing Inter-Professional Center).The Lab Operations Coordinator plays a multifaceted role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the CON IPC, from administrative support to logistical coordination and facility management.
Qualifications:
  • Baccalaureate degree, Major science or similar plus 3 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional license/certificate: Healthcare systems operations specialist certification PLUS two (2) years experience in a standardized patient/simulation program lab,
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Knowledge of general medical conditions, injuries and diseases, anatomical and physical systems, general health care procedures, and medication administration practices.
  • Ability to distinguish among healthcare equipment, supplies and environments. Differentiate roles of healthcare professionals.
  • Working knowledge of physics as it applies to hi fidelity manikins
Additional Information:Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Administrative Tasks: Assists the CON IPC coordinator with various administrative tasks, including scheduling, copying, processing paperwork, utilizing Microsoft Office software, filing, answering phones, and performing general office duties.
  • Management of Physical Environment: Supports in managing the physical environment of the IPC, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and functionality of the lab space.
  • Assisting Course Faculty: Provides assistance to course faculty during lab sessions, which may include setting up equipment, facilitating activities, and providing support as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assists in maintaining all equipment within the IPC, including repair, cleaning, general maintenance, and delivery as necessary. Performs bi-annual inventory checks and ensures supplies are stocked and storage areas are organized.
  • Lab Setup and Breakdown: Sets up and breaks down class labs as directed by laboratory coordinators, course coordinators, or faculty instructors.
  • Supply Management: Gathers supplies for equipment requests, ensures appropriate documentation is completed for equipment check-out and return, and ensures bed stations are equipped with supplies at all times.
  • Linens Maintenance: Ensures all bed stations are equipped with clean linens, changing them a minimum of twice per year or more frequently if needed.
  • Scheduling Classes and Events: Helps schedule IPC classes and events on the master calendar, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
  • Flexibility in Hours: Acknowledges that the position's hours and days may vary based on the needs of the College, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet changing demands.
