University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy (Karnes Laboratory) is Hiring a Computational Biologist Near Tucson, AZ

This position is directed at support of bioinformatic and health informatic analysis needs of the Karnes pharmacogenomics laboratory. This individual would utilize repositories of genomic and electronic medical records data (All of Us, UK Biobank, TOPMED) to make new discoveries and advance several active NIH funded projects. Candidates should have excellent computational and data analysis experience. Will consider remote or hybrid schedule for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, train and manage statistical data analysis
  • Analysis of RNAseq data
  • Analysis of short and long read WGS data
  • DNA methylation analysis
  • GWAS and PheWAS analyses
  • Analysis of electronic medical records data
  • Analysis using All of Us Research program data
  • Assist in grant, progress report, and manuscript editing and writing with primary responsibility for planning and designing statistical data for proposals, reports, and manuscripts.
  • Design and preparation of high quality figures and tables
  • Design and conduct research projects.
  • Advise and assist in determining statistical methods and analysis for research projects
  • Analyze research results and help determine next steps.
  • Help train undergraduate and graduate students in the lab on biostatistical skills.
  • Assist in routine laboratory management and maintaining lab equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $54,853.00 - $70,732.00 per year
