The primary accountabilities below are intended to describe the general content of and requirements of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties.
To assist in the development and management of programming in environmental, social and economic sustainability. To direct development activities and seek external funding for the Sustainability program from federal, state and private resources. To manage special projects in support of academic programs, community outreach and sustainable energy. To represent UAB Sustainability in the community and at regional and national meetings, to coordinate UAB Sustainability events and to direct student work on special projects.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
STARTING ANNUAL RATE OF PAY: $52,555.00 - $68.320.00 (Commensurate with experience & qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, English, Environmental Sciences, Nonprofit Management or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATIONS:
Must maintain a valid driver’s license, issued in the United States. Motor Vehicle Record will be obtained and reviewed at least annually. Driving record should meet university underwriting standards to drive vehicle in performance of University business.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
PERSONAL: Must be able to possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform tasks requiring sitting and staring at a computer screen for extended periods of time, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and extensive walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus.
