Position Summary:
To strategically plan, implement, direct, and maintain the fiscally related activities of departments within the Heersink School of Medicine (HSOM) and the Health Services Foundation (HSF). To serve as a resource and source of expertise to the represented departments and to ensure policies, procedures, and programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals, and comply with professional standards and institutional requirements.
To understand and advise departments on budgeting, reporting, and how their departmental financial performance impacts UAB Medicine as a whole, with particular attention to the UAB Medicine Obligate Group. To lead a team of competent finance professionals in providing services to a defined group of departments, consistently of the highest quality, in a highly collaborative manner with all stakeholders, including but not limited to the departments, UAB Medicine, and UAB Central Administration. To be innovative in creating effective and efficient processes and procedures in conjunction with UAB Medicine Leadership. To serve as an example of best practices for all departments.
Salary Range: $104,045 - $169, 075
Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight (8) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
