Job Description
The Department of Genetics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Heersink School of Medicine invites applications for a Teaching Instructor faculty position to teach several courses in Genetics and Genomic Sciences Undergraduate Program GGSC: https://catalog.uab.edu/coursedescriptions/ggsc/ as well as develop new courses in support of the future growth of the GGSC program. Candidates with teaching expertise in Genetics and Genomics sciences with particular emphasis on topics related to genetic model systems, genome structure and organization, bioinformatics and pharmacogenetics are encouraged to apply. Strong candidates will have scientific training in the areas of genetics, genomics, or both, with demonstrated excellence in teaching. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to apply innovative approaches to teaching basic science and applied (research and clinical) concepts in the fields of genetics and genomics at the undergraduate level.
The Department of Genetics is comprised of an interdisciplinary group of faculty focused on performing basic laboratory and clinical research.
