The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Law School Events Manager.

Law School events are a representation of the mission and focus of the Dean and the Law School. The Dean hopes to enhance the experience and connection that faculty, students, visitors, alumni, and outside organizations have with the Law School through faculty conferences, VIP events, signature program events and alumni events. The Events Manager should have a passion for excellence and support the mission of the Law School.
The Events Manager is a member of the Law School operations team who manages a portfolio of both domestic and international Law School sponsored events. The Events Manager will manage a team of Event Specialists that serve as the event liaisons to Law School event sponsors overseeing details such as meeting space and set-up arrangements, dining and catering requests, audio-visual needs, and more. The Events Manager will work with the Dean and Senior Leadership team to provide a strategy for implementing Law School events throughout the academic calendar that meets the Dean's strategic priorities and faculty needs. They will be responsible for monitoring individual event budgets, track event revenue, and review vendor invoices. The Events Manager will ensure their team flawlessly executes events, delivering the highest level of customer service and provide customized solutions throughout. This position is responsible for the planning, logisitics, parternships, and contracts necessary for ensuring high quality events and programs for the Law School.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Oversee, organize and manage events from initial design to completion
  • Strategic planning of Law School events calendar and visitors, working with the Dean and Senior Leadership Team
  • Manage and track detailed event budgets. Create and implement event metrics (such as volume, type, attendance)
  • Manage relationships with campus partnersand external vendors, including coordination with NDI Gateway staff
  • Lead a talented team of events staff, including creating a welcoming and professional environment that encourages employee growth and sets expectations for the team.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school related to Communications, Marketing or Business
  • Customer-service oriented individual
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience organizing complex events and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Committed to excellence
  • Detail-oriented
  • Comfortable making decisions
  • Can effectively manage and be a part of a team
  • Mission-oriented; understands and supports the mission of the Law School and the Dean
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Some graphic design experience preferred
