The Impact Consulting Program Manager will be responsible for supporting all activities related to the development and ongoing administration of activities related to the Impact Consulting Project-Based Learning Environment, including but not limited to classroom support, partner administration, project management, and financial oversight. The Program Manager will work closely with faculty to develop and grow the Impact Consulting offerings.
Impact Consulting Purpose Statement: There are many complex challenges facing our world today that can only be solved with the best and brightest minds coupled with empathy and compassionate hearts. Working collaboratively with project partners and industry advisors, student teams will apply human-centered design methods to scope problems, identify possible solutions, develop prototypes, test concepts, and ultimately, implement solutions. Projects often will span multiple semesters, enabling students to have continued engagement, enabling Mendoza to track and report the impact of student-generated solutions.
Detailed responsibilities include:
Partnership Management
  • Manage relationships with partner organizations, support partner development, and help identify and negotiate new partner relationships;
  • Help to establish and maintain needed agreements, including memorandums of understanding, statements of work, etc.;
  • Oversee various budgets and accounts related to project expenses and income;
  • Maintain documents outlining operating procedures for partners and projects, including required forms, policies, and practices;
  • Assist with advisory board activities, including coordinating meetings, regular communications, and other support needs to facilitate collaboration.
Student and Classroom Support
  • Assist with managing student enrollment, including reviewing applications, and ensuring compliance with enrollment and travel requirements;
  • Arrange/coordinate pre-departure logistics for project-related travel including, but not limited to, flights, visas, health requirements, accommodations, transportation, and other related logistics for conducting fieldwork;
  • Work with faculty on curriculum development (design and implementation) of classroom-related experiences;
  • Support day-to-day operations and serve as point of support during travel, events, lectures, or meetings, including team meetings with industry advisors;
  • Lead student team formation (domestic and international), matching with partner projects, and overseeing project management milestones;
  • Help with coordinating ethnographic research including assistance with IRB process when applicable, scheduling research subjects, and coordinating with translators as needed;
  • Oversee research fund compensation for subjects, tracking and allocating;
  • Oversee project awards, tracking money awarded per team each semester against metrics for prototype testing and implementation;
  • Provide support and oversight for student-launched ventures through incubation phase before transfer to client partners, including but not limited to Saint Bakhita's Shop (shop.saintbakhitas.org)
  • Assist in the development of an "Impact Fund", and leads tracking and reporting of metrics.
  • Design informational and promotional materials related to projects, including but not limited to social media accounts;
  • Coordinate scheduling and event needs including A/V, room configuration, and learning materials;
  • Monitor, keep inventory, and work within Mendoza procurement channels to stock materials for classroom activities;
  • Support club activities including meetings, industry engagement, and outputs.
General Administrative Support and Strategic Development
  • Manage databases, including partner agreements, datasets, official policies, and key documents;
  • Assist with overseeing project-related funds such as the endowment for experiential learning, the expendable fund, crowdfunding campaigns, student award allocations for implementation, incoming expenses from project requests, and club allocations;
  • Manage expenses - reviewing, monitoring, tracking, and processing invoices;
  • Prepare financial summaries and projections of budgets, including detailed accounting of project-based income and expenses;
  • Contribute to development of operational and business goals;
  • Assist with cultivating inter-college and cross-university collaboration to facilitate impact projects;
  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of new curricular programs;
  • Monitor grant opportunities and assist with grant writing and tracking;
  • Provide oversight for student internship and fellowship programs;
  • Collaborate with overseeing project milestones and tracking key performance indicators for all initiatives relative to broader objectives;
  • Support collaboration and alignment with Innovation for Impact Club activities

    This is a 1-year limited term position
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree
    • Candidates should have at least three years of experience in program design or project management, including:
      • Experience in managing relationships/partnerships with non-profit organizations and/or corporations
      • Ability to establish objectives and develop strategies for achieving objectives
      • Exceptional organizational skills, and an ability to manage a complex portfolio of activities happening concurrently
      • Ability to develop and maintain diverse stakeholder relationships
      • Collaborative and team-oriented working style
      • Strong organizational capacities
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working in an inter-cultural; environment and/or with international organizations
    • Exposure to innovative pedagogies for addressing complex global challenges such as Design Thinking, Systems Thinking, and Negotiation
    • Background in project/program design and/or evaluation are preferred
    • Experience in collaborative environments like Google Suite and Trello
    • Graphic/visual/digital design expertise
