The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Education, Outreach and Diversity Program Manager (Remote Optional).

The Equity, Outreach, and Diversity (EOD) manager will work with all Center for Computer Assisted Synthesis (C-CAS) and Data Chemists Network (DCN) members (faculty, trainees and staff) to coordinate the education and outreach activities of C-CAS. This will include connecting the C-CAS members to the general public through social media campaigns and in-person outreach activities; managing, implementing and expanding the training activities for C-CAS trainees through organization of workshops, creation of training material in collaboration with C-CAS and DCN members and contributing to the professional development activities for C-CAS and DCN trainees. The EOD manager will ensure that the work of the C-CAS reaches diverse audiences, with particular focus on reaching participants underrepresented in the sciences. The incumbent will communicate regularly with the center director (Dr. Olaf Wiest) and will work in direct collaboration with C-CAS faculty affiliates across multiple institutions to create and manage EOD programming initiatives. The EOD manager will report to the center director and the executive committee. More specifically, the incumbent will: 1) Design and support professional development training for the undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral members of C-CAS; 2) Work with C-CAS members to develop content and material for online courses in data chemistry; 3) Oversee C-CAS communication campaigns for both social media and traditional media platforms; 4) Network with outreach and media professionals at participating C-CAS universities; 5) Manage the budget for EOD activities; 6) Interface with external agencies devoted to diversity in science and; 7) Furnish materials and metrics on EOD activities for C-CAS members and for annual NSF progress reports.
This position is initially for a limited term of five years (to August 31, 2027).
Extension of this position beyond this term is contingent upon the availability of external funding.
This position offers the possibility of a remote work schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA Degree (4 years) in STEM field.
Three to five years experience in outreach and/or curriculum development is required. Project management experience, experience with informal science communication and social media, experience with broader impact activities in multi-institution federal research centers, and experience with improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM space is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
MS or PhD Degree in STEM field
