University Medical Center of El Paso is Hiring a Spec. Marketing Communications Near El Paso, TX

  1. Job Summary

The Communications and Marketing Specialist generates and implementing brand awareness of the University Medical Center Foundation of El Paso (UMCF) and El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation (EPCHF) via a variety of marketing and communication platforms on a local, regional, state and national levels. Responsible to provide public and media relations by planning, creating, and executing internal and external communications, marketing collateral, website administration, social media marketing and special events. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications and marketing initiatives to promote the nonprofit organization's mission, programs. The Communications and Marketing Specialist works closely with the Executive Director, Director of Operations, and other staff members to create compelling content, engage diverse audiences, and enhance the organization's visibility and reputation.

Work Experience:

Three years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, preferably within a nonprofit organization or community-based setting.

License/Registration/Certification:

None.

Education and Training:

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, graphic design, marketing, public relations, or a related field required.

Skills:

    1. Strong knowledge of communications and marketing best practices, strategies, and tactics, including digital and traditional channels.
    2. Proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms, email marketing software, Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and other software applications, including Constant Contact, Google Analytics, Reputation.com, and Canva.
    3. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design- Required).
    4. Proficiency in or aptitude to learn web design, video, and other multimedia programs.
    5. Proficiency in producing press releases and other media packages.
    6. Knowledge of desktop publishing, web publishing, design, layout, and content creation.
    7. Ability to create, deliver, edit, and optimize marketing and communications materials.
    8. Ability to coordinate social media platform messages/utilization/measurement to include but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Word Press, Pinterest, Google , Linked In, Flickr, and SEO.
    9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives, engage diverse audiences, and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
    10. Strong organizational, analytical, technical, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    11. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, self-motivated, flexible, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    12. Media messages must be ethical and accurate, containing relevant information gleaned from credible sources in compliance with HIPAA and the Foundation’s privacy and confidential information policies.
    13. Requires impeccable attention to detail and excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
    14. A strong commitment to the mission and values of the nonprofit organization.
    15. Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends for events and meetings.
    16. Project management skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Strong organizational and time-management skills are crucial.
    17. Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including staff, volunteers, donors, and external partners.
    18. Interpersonal skills: Ability to work well with others, build relationships, and work effectively in a team environment. Must be able to interact with people at all levels of the organization.
    19. Technology skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and event management software. Familiarity with digital communication tools like email marketing platforms and social media.
    20. Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required by the event schedule. Travel may also be required.
    21. Problem-solving skills: Ability to think creatively, troubleshoot issues, and find solutions under pressure.
    22. Passion for the cause: A genuine interest in and commitment to the nonprofit's mission and goals.
