University Meadows Elementary is Hiring a Coordinating Teacher, EC Process (24-25) Near Charlotte, NC

***End of Year Position***

Summary:The EC Process Coordinating Teacher is responsible for managing and completing the evaluation process for determining if students meet the criteria as a student with a disability.Conducts comprehensive functional and behavioral analysis and writes assessment reports. Also manages the Manifestation Determination Review process for students with disabilities who are facing disciplinary procedures such as suspension or expulsion.Collaborates with other school level EC service providers and works as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide health assessments, services, resources and referrals.

Essential Duties: (These duties represent a sample and may vary by position.)

  • Facilitates, schedules and attends all evaluation consideration and manifestation determination review meetings.

  • Administers various assessment instruments to measure progress, determine

    placement and to update educational plans.

  • Receives and responds to referrals from parents and school staff; conducts academic assessment for referred students or students currently receiving special education services, interprets assessment results for team members; writes behavior support plans.

  • Completes all required paperwork for initial eligibility considerations, reevaluation meetings and manifestation determination review meetings within appropriate timelines.

  • Manages and completes transfer student eligibility process.

  • Administers and interprets all educational assessments needed to determine eligibility.

  • Acts as a liaison between school and assigned Compliance Coordinating Teacher.

  • Assigns case managers for all students in EasyIEP.

  • Coordinates December and April 1 headcount responsibilities with school administration, case managers and central office.

  • Participates in all central office meetings

  • Communicates compliance updates to school staff.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education
  • Current Special Education license
  • 3-5 years teaching students with disabilities

Desired

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education
  • 2-3 years’ experience monitoring compliance

Licensing / Certification Requirements: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid license in special education.
