University Instructors (UI) is seeking dynamic face-to-face secondary teachers and tutors with a passion for supporting students in grades 6-12 for the 2023-24 school year. In this role, under the direction of the University Instructors’ team, and the school district, you will partner with long-term subs and teachers to support special education classrooms.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

• Engage with students in a friendly and professional manner.
• Know academic standards, grade level, course content, and best instructional practices.
• Prepare lessons and provide whole group and differentiated small group instruction.
• Respond to student questions in a positive and supportive manner, providing as detailed instructions as needed.
• Work with the students to set and maintain progress goals.
• Participate in relevant professional development and professional learning communities.
• Submit records related to attendance, student progress, and other UI program requirements on time.
• Support with all assigned duties, including lunch, hallway, bus, and other activities when needed.
• Co-plan with assigned teachers and grade-level teams.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

As a successful applicant, you must have a passion for helping students succeed. Additionally, you will need to have the following:

• Hold a bachelor’s degree
• Be local to the area
• Two years of experience providing instruction in SPED
