The School of Theatre and Dance (SoTD) at the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston is now accepting applications for a nine-month non-tenure track Scholar-in-Residence position as a Theatre Scholar in Residence at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts (CWMCA) for the 2024-2025 academic year. The successful candidate will reside in Houston for the duration of the residency and teach one course each semester, initiate interdisciplinary projects and/or performances with CWMCA and SoTD students and faculty, and vigorously pursue their creative/scholarly activities.
The position of Theatre Scholar in Residence is designed for a post-graduate candidate of the highest caliber in their respective field with a strong interest in interdisciplinary studies. The candidate’s primary expertise must be in theatre and performance. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach in the areas of theatre and interdisciplinary arts.
Applicants should have definitive interdisciplinary interests they wish to pursue while a Scholar in Residence. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, performance, research, or community service has prepared them for interdisciplinary collaboration and will contribute to our commitment to excellence.
