University Hospitals Careers is Hiring a Patient Care Nurse Assistant. (PCNA) Near Elyria, OH

Description
Sign on bonus- night shift, with one year applicable experience
Possible units available: Emergency Department, 6 Smythe (Ortho/Med/Surg), 8 Smythe (Cardiac/Tele) 9 Smythe (Observation/Cardiac Tele)
10 Smythe (Med/Surg) , 11 Smythe (Med/Surg), Clinical Float Pool, In patient Psych, Outpatient Surgery
Day and Night shifts available
The Patient Care Nursing Associate PCNA completes patient care activities as delegated by the RN. PCAs perform duties including, but not limited to, ADLs, vital signs, I and Os, 12 lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene and venipuncture where applicable. Familiarity with using wheelchairs, EKG equipment, patient assistive devices, and patient care equipment specific to assigned population. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as, exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic, demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients and customers, basic computer data entry skills. Experience in a large teaching hospital preferred. One year job stability preferred.
Qualifications

Experience Requirement:

  • One (1) year of customer service experience preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Equivalent / GED required.
  • BLS certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during UH Orientation.
