Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator is a supervisory position at University Hospital, tasked with establishing a comprehensive foundation for the Transgender and Gender Non Conforming Health Program.
This role encompasses the creation and oversight of medical, surgical, legal, behavioral, and financial services tailored to meet the needs of transgender and gender nonconforming individuals.
The coordinator will not only manage the program but also serve as a key advocate both within the hospital and in the broader community.
They will assist in planning, developing, coordinating, and evaluating the program to ensure it meets high standards of care.
As part of the healthcare team, the Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing evidence based practices in both office and hospital settings.
This collaboration involves working closely with Physicians, Physician Assistants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Inpatient Nurse Managers, Patient Navigators, and other team members.
Additionally, the Program Coordinator will play a crucial role in the Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program, aligning with Centers of Excellence for transgender health to optimize
clinical, financial, and satisfaction outcomes for patients.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field required. Four (4) years of administrative experience with supervisory and / or management responsibilities in a health care environment required.
Current license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Social Worker registered in NJ required. Must have experience working with Transgender patients.
Knowledge of WPATH (World Professional Association of Transgender Health) standards. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate issues as well as monitor and follow up on outstanding items. This role requires leadership skills and the ability to function in the clinical, administrative, and financial environments.
Equivalent experience, education and / or training may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree requirement on a year for year basis.
Credentials required : Bachelor’s Degree, Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the NJ State Board of Nursing or Current Certified
