POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs functions requiring basic knowledge of quantity "cook to order" cooking methods with primary production centering around typical fast food breakfast type service. Complies with University Health and department policies. Ensures the proper care and use of food, supplies, and equipment. Complies with safety, hygiene and sanitation regulations. Maintains good guest and working relations. Assures the competent, efficient and timely performance of duties and assignments. Must meet established daily deadlines with accuracy and quality performance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
The ability to read, write and speak English, understand oral and written instructions, and do simple arithmetic is required. High school diploma or equivalent experience required. Vocational or on-the-job training in cooking is preferred. No experience required if candidate has completed training as a cook apprentice or has six months experience in food production and cooking during demanding schedules. More than one year of the aforementioned with short order and hospital food production experience, in a high volume area, is preferred.
