Position Summary

Responsibilities include all aspects of running a Division I lacrosse program inlcuding but not limited to: recruitment and retention of student-athletes, academic integrity, commitment to compliance with NCAA, League, and University rules and regulations, fiscal management, scheduling, staffing, alumni and public relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Operate the program in compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. 
  2. Administer a successful student-athelete recruitment program.
  3. Create annual schedule of competition that meets the guidelines outlined in the staff manual and enables the team to travel to away contests in a reasonable and safe manner.
  4. Administer sound budget practices.
  5. Meet minimum/maximum requirements regarding squad size. 
  6. Attend athletic department functions.
  7. Coordinate and perform coaching duties including pre-season conditioning, practice, game preparation, field/floor coaching, and post season activities.
  8. Comply with Sports Medicine policies and procedures stated in the Athletic Staff and Student athlete manuals.
  9. Retain student-athletes in program, maintain team continuity, and garner student-athlete satisfaction with the program.
  10. In consultation with Athletic Director (or designee), select, supervise, and retain assistant coach(s) or support staff.
  11. Demonstrate concern and support for academic performances of student-athletes on the team.
  12. Field a team that is competitive athletically (finish in upper division of league winning record).
  13. Field team whose racial or ethnic composition is reflective of the University’s undergraduate full-timepopulation population. 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education - Bachelor degree, required.
  • Employment - 4-5 years’ experience with college level program or as a high school head coach. Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Physical Requirements

Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).

Work Environment

Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.

Salary/Pay Information

Commensurate with experience.

Anticipated Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm. Nights and weekends as necessary.
