University Club of Milwaukee is Hiring a Maintenance Person Near Milwaukee, WI

Ensure the facility is maintained to a high standard, including appearance, full compliance with codes/regulations, health, and safety requirements. Assist facility manger as directed.

  • Assist the work of contractors, including general building, mechanical and electrical, fire alarm systems, lift maintenance, pest control, security systems, emergency light testing & inspections, waste management, utilities, and any other maintenance requests, closely monitoring progress to ensure quality and completion of work
  • Monitor all procedures related to periodic maintenance, servicing, and inspection of equipment including HVAC, plumbing fixtures, sewage systems, electrical fixtures and circuitry, pumps, motors, elevators, related instruments/controls, etc.
  • Supervise the custodial and maintain stock and inventory of cleaning and janitorial supplies
  • Maintain a planned and preventative maintenance schedule that anticipates and incorporates future developments with the building’s infrastructure, finishes, fixtures, and décor
  • Ensure optimum performance of all IT systems and hardware, including telephones
  • Ensure completion of ongoing regular maintenance, such as changing HVAC filters and light bulbs; minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry projects; minor emergency repairs, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by Facility Manager
  • Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
  • Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.

Working Conditions:

Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Work primarily indoors in a restaurant/lounge environment, with some outdoor work involving patio, pool, and on-course service. Will be exposed to sharp utensils, extremely hot sharp and rapid equipment movements, potentially dangerous chemicals, and solvents on a daily basis. May be exposed, from time to time, to inclement weather, potentially dangerous pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, equipment movement hazards, and misdirected golf balls. Injury may result if safety policies and practices are not properly followed at all times.

Physical Requirements:

Must have the ability to:

  • Read and write (English)
  • Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers
  • Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions
  • Supervise subordinates
  • Visually inspect all work areas
  • Operate equipment for several hours at a time
  • Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Retrieve, read and interpret information from technical sources
  • Stand, sit, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time
  • Lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly
