Develop, implement, and optimize retail pharmacy operations and initiatives supported via pharmacy analytics
Develop and implement strategies to achieve financial metrics, including strategies to optimize drug economics
Develop and implement strategies to improve the safety and quality of pharmacy services, including accreditation standards, performance improvement, and meeting regulatory and contractual obligations
Involvement in key projects within a multi-specialty practice
Lead the pharmacy team, including hiring, training, scheduling, resolving performance issues, coaching, and mentoring
Ensure that pharmacists and technicians receive ongoing training, competency assessment, and performance improvement activities to improve patient care at UCBC
Ensure safe, appropriate, cost-effective drug therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols based on current pharmacy standards and best practices
Ensure proper storage, delivery, and monitoring of medications within the pharmacy and practice patient care areas
Ensure maintenance and integrity of an adequate drug supply and assist in establishing procurement and purchasing specifications for drugs and biologics
Complete reports, documents, payroll, surveys, and other required data as required
Work with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy teams to implement appropriate drug use guidelines and protocols based on evidence-based medicine, national guidelines, and literature-based protocols
Promote high-quality patient care
Skills:
Understand PSAOs, contracting, and the PBM landscape and be well-versed in reimbursement industry trends and pharmacy finance management
Knowledge of retail pharmacy systems, claims data, and workflow optimization
Strong knowledge of payer, regulatory, compliance, and licensure issues at the federal and state levels relative to medically integrated pharmacy
Basic knowledge of drug reimbursement under the medical benefit
Experience with a Drug Formulary Committee
Experience with REMS programs and the auditing process
Experience building and developing a high-performing team
Strong oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
Ability to form and articulate persuasive arguments and make change via strong change management skills with stakeholders
Success in aligning goals and incentives across teams within the practice
Ability to build professional relationships quickly and collaborate with a diverse set of colleagues
Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
Job Requirements:
Active Georgia Pharmacist License
Minimum of 5 years of pharmacy experience required, preferably leading an independent or medically integrated pharmacy. Additional experience in a hospital/infusion pharmacy preferred
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience required
