Albizu University is seeking qualified applicants for the Clinical Supervisor position at the Goodman Psychological Services Center. The clinic serves as the training site for doctoral students enrolled in the clinical psychology program and an APA Internship site.


Beginning Date:
April 1st


General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the individual and group clinical supervision of students on practicum to ensure the quality of a behavioral health training clinic.
  • Ensuring compliance with APA Standards of Accreditation for Health Service Psychology and Accreditation Operating Procedures and adherence to the APA Code of Ethics.
  • Ensure the provision of quality services in face-to-face and telehealth modalities in compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provides individual and group supervision to the practicum students and/or interns to ensure quality therapeutic services and service hours’ requirements.
  • Review caseload assignments with supervisees on a weekly basis to assign and maintain a full caseload.
  • Proactively evaluates individual and overall students on practicum performance on a regular and ongoing basis; uses collected data and information to make needed improvements, including adjustments as needed, to students on practicum caseload and work assignments to maximize quality of care and staff productivity.
  • Reviews electronic case records and documentation for completeness, consistency, and quality of mental health services provided including application of proper techniques and appropriateness of therapeutic modalities.
  • Provides on-going training to ensure quality clinical documentation.
  • Effectively communicates program, administrative, and clinical expectations and policies/procedures to supervisees; ensures compliance with state and federal mandates.
  • Provide effective case consultations to increase the quality of care.
  • Supports students in clinical training development through an annual plan including staff trainings to ensure quality and effective therapeutic service delivery.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews; proactively identify and develop plans for areas of improvement on an ongoing basis.
  • Keeps abreast of best practices in the provision of community mental health.
  • Conducts comprehensive intakes/assessments to include a psychosocial diagnostic assessment addressing numerous life domains utilizing interviews, collateral contacts, available clinical records, observations, and verified screening tools that support best practices.
  • Reports to the Goodman Center Clinic Director.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Goodman Center Clinic Director.


Minimal Qualifications:

  • Clinical Psychology Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree from an APA-accredited program.
  • Licensed in the State of Florida for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Experience working in the public, public, and non-profit sectors.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Florida Mental Health Act, commonly referred to as the Baker Act.
  • Pass a background clearance check.
