6 MONTH TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT - $65 PER HOUR
Cedar Hills Hospital is a 98-bed behavioral health hospital and Outpatient Services program in Portland, Oregon dedicated to healing patients' minds and bodies. How will you make a difference at CEDAR HILLS HOSPITAL?
Registered Nurses (RNs) at CEDAR HILLS HOSPITAL deliver quality nursing care to patients with varying psychiatric, behavioral and mental health diagnoses, ensuring their safety and continued care.
Registered Nurses (RN) are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:
- Assess patients through a systematic process of interacting with the patient, the patient's significant others, and the appropriate health care providers.
- Administer medications in a safe, accurate, and timely manner
- Collect and analyze data regarding the patient's physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and anticipated discharge planning needs.
- Develop a comprehensive outline of care and specific goals and interventions to be included in treatment planning. Prepare interdisciplinary treatment plans for assigned patients and monitor patient's progress toward meeting treatment plan objectives.
- Monitor patients following nursing unit policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:
- Education: Associates degree in a school or nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred.
- Experience: New grads welcome! One or more year's psychiatric nursing experience is a plus but it not required; we provide 6 weeks of intensive psych-specific training.
- Licensure: Currently has an unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
Must be able to demonstrate core nursing knowledge/competencies including, but not limited to medication administration and principles of adult education; ability to read, comprehend, and execute policies, procedures, treatment plans, and clinical standards found in nursing practice literature; ability to provide succinct and effective oral and written communications to co-workers and patients; able to make sound, independent judgements based on scientific and/or ethical principles; and knowledge of behavior management strategies required to provide care for persons with psychiatric and/or substance use disorders.
Must demonstrate basic computer literacy.
May be asked to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
(Candidates employed by any UHS facility within the last 6 months are NOT elgible.)
