Mental Health Associate - Transitional Living - PRN

Job Description

The Brook Hospital - KMI offers a highly structured chemical dependency residential program for men using a model of recovery called Recovery Dynamics. Recovery Dynamics is a chemical dependency treatment program developed by Joe McQuany in 1997 to be used at Serenity House Treatment Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. The purpose of this program was to design a program that could enable counselors in alcohol and addiction treatment centers, to have a broader and deeper understanding of the AA plan of recovery and to be able to present the program to clients clearly and effectively. Recovery Dynamics is a method for the counselor to use to present the program that is described in the textbook of Alcoholics Anonymous.

The Brook Hospital - KMI's Residential Transitional Living Home is a licensed non-hospital-based residential substance abuse treatment program for males 18 years and older. The Transitional Living Home is a beautifully renovated 3,300-square foot home with six semi-private rooms located on the campus of the hospital. The setting is ideal for patients to continue the road to recovery. The program encourages the participant to be responsible for his own care and recovery through encouragement to accept the philosophy, education and motivation of self. The program is staffed 24 hours per day with mental health associates, dedicated licensed therapist, with oversight by a psychiatrist.
