Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Specialist for our Kalmia location. This position is responsible for overall functioning of the medical office. Duties include but not limited to:

  • Maintains a cordial and courteous relationship with patients. Always greets patients with a smile.
  • Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient visits based on established guidelines.
  • Check in / check out process. Assists providers to stay on schedule. Alerts patients of delays.
  • Insurance authorizations. Ensures that all patient charts are prepared with the utmost accuracy.
  • Reviews patient registration forms for accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work schedule is 12pm-8pm Weekdays; 9am-5pm Saturdays. Schedule may change based on business needs.
Qualifications

Experience/Training/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year administrative medical office experience required.
  • Medical Terminology and basic mathematical calculations, basic computer knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of medical clinic functions (scheduling, billing, insurance verifications and authorizations, ICD9 and CPT4 coding, patient procedures, medical records) preferred

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Current BLS/CPR certification required.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Profecient in using office equipment such as fax machine, copier and telephone system.
  • Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environment.
  • May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
  • Occasionally subject to irregular hours.
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary
