Forensic Clinical Program Leader

The Forensic Clinical Program Leader (Director) provides clinical support for social and therapy services for residents/patients on the forensic units. This position will be responsible for the forensic program's therapeutic milieu coordination to include managing Court, the Dept. of Mental Health needs, and engaging legal contacts for Forensic patients. The FCPL will ensure full and appropriate census by management of the wait list in coordination with Intake (Admissions Dept.) and the Attending Physician(s).

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Serve as a role model for quality patient care and support an environment conducive to professional growth.
Ensure full and appropriate forensic census by management of the wait list in cooperation with Intake and the Attending Physician(s).
In collaboration with the Risk Manager and Nurse Manager investigate critical incidents and complaints from patients, personnel, other departments, and inform Director of Clinical Services.
Assure a therapeutic and safe environment, patients' rights, the nursing process, safety, and patients' participation in their care.
Plan, develop, and coordinate the needs of the program with other disciplines, activities, and programs.
Manage, schedule, and/or coordinate court appointments, DMH needs, and correspond with legal contacts of forensic unit patients.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the total program and make recommendations and changes as indicated
