Overview:

Univers is looking for a Finance Manager/Financial Accountant, Europe to be based in London. The key responsibilities as the Finance Manager/Financial Accountant, Europe will be to manage all areas of the financial accounting and reporting, including but not limited to bookkeeping, controlling, financial reporting, support with forecasting, budgeting, business intelligence, and corporate administrative matters for Univers’ legal entities in UK, France, and the Netherlands. The future incumbent is accountable for delivery of accurate and timely financial results in accordance with company’s financial reporting requirements and timelines.

Job Title: Finance Manager/Financial Accountant, Europe

Location: London

Role & Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for the UK legal entity’s accounting & financial reporting (statutory and corporate), posting journal entries into Microsoft Dynamics in close collaboration with external consultants; supporting the Finance Business Partner in France and Netherlands on accounting & financial reporting.
• Financial Planning & Analysis: support Business Partners with budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with Univers’ strategic plan; ensure that business forecasts are reflected in financial reports.
• Management Reporting: ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, annual management reporting packages and ad-hoc analyses.
• Cash Management: monitor cash flow needs and prepare the monthly rolling cash flow forecast and actuals; prepare payment runs through online banking.
• ERP Systems: work closely with internal and external IT consultants on further developing Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations and other accounting software tools; create standardized reports and support process automation projects.
• Statutory financial reporting/taxes be main contact for accounting firms, tax advisors, auditors, payroll service providers, and authorities.
• Compliance and Internal Controls: support the implementation of a robust internal control framework; help to formalise necessary procedures and update policies for financial management; be control point in P2P process, approve vendor payments; ensure adequate insurance coverage against business risks; work with Univers’ Legal team and company secretary on corporate housekeeping.

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a comparable role in an audit or accounting firm (Big 4 or the next 10), or multinational, services-oriented, customer-centric operations incl. project management. IFRS and UK GAAP is a must.

Background: Combination of large and mid-size entrepreneurial experience, ideally in (or having close synergy to) Smart Energy/Renewables, IoT, Software, SaaS, PaaS, or Professional Services industry
