Responsible for providing security services that seek to create a safe and secure environment for the hospital community. The Security Officer undertakes activities designed to identify, deter, abate, or correct situations; both routine and emergent that are within the scope of responsibility for the department, as they occur on hospital owned or controlled property.
Safety Techs are responsible for providing services that seek to create a safe and secure environment for the departments they are assigned. The Safety Tech undertakes activities designed to identify, deter, abate, or correct situations; both routine and emergent that are within the scope of responsibility for the hospital as they occur.

Responsibilities
* Patrol hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and intruders.
* Monitor conduct of visitors on hospital premises.
* Confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.
* Perform investigations for incidents criminal and non-criminal which occur on property.
* Report safety and/or fire hazards or security violations. Complete incident report on any significant security incident or concern, relays safety related information as appropriate.
Qualifications
* High School diploma/GED or highest level of post-secondary education.
* Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
* Ability to de-escalate violent, aggressive, or disruptive persons.
* Use of critical thinking in a high stress environment. Excellent observation skills.
* Preferred:
* Associate or Bachelor's degree in criminal justice law enforcement
* Military, law enforcement and/or security experience is highly preferred.
