UnityPoint Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit health care organization offering comprehensive services in primary care, walk-in care and specialty care. The clinical teams at the areas clinics are improving outcomes, lowering the number of hospital readmissions and reducing avoidable costs associated with treating chronic conditions. The UnityPoint Clinic team is known for excellence and quality patient care putting patients at the center of their care to provide the best level of health and well-being.

This provider will support our existing team by working shifts as needed. They will practice autonomously and in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients psychiatric illnesses by providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management and brief psychotherapy. Collaborates, consults and/or refers patients to a psychiatrist when appropriate to ensure quality patient care.

• 1 shift per month required
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
• Provides psychiatric evaluations and brief psychotherapy to patients
• Provides diagnostic, prescriptive pharmacological treatments and follow-up medication management to patients
• Demonstrates expertise in the interpretations of biopsychosocial data regarding client status and assumes accountability and responsibility for interventions prescribed
• Treats crisis situations and emergencies, as needed

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Board Certified
• Experience preferred
• Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States
