ResponsibilitiesFood Service
• Participate in resident care through the preparation and serving of all meals according to the schedule and foods provided.
• Communicate with program staff to ensure all patient needs are met when providing meals and snacks.
• Maintain organized, clean, and sanitized kitchen area and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety policies.
• Demonstrate ability to document and communicate kitchen needs, food inventory and conflicts.
• Other duties as assigned.
Environment Care
• Participate in resident care through maintaining a clean and sanitary environment which includes both shared patient areas and patient rooms.
• Assist in the cleaning and sanitization of the environment both on and off the patient unit.
• Ensure laundry services are properly cleaned, organized and attended to.
• Demonstrate ability to document and communicate the needs and conflicts to complete responsibilities and meet the needs of the programs.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet the needs and support all program services.
• Other duties as assigned.
Regulatory Compliance
• Complete documentation of inventory, ordering and all other items required by regulatory standards or policies and procedures.
• Participates in discussions regarding development, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of programming.
• Participates in mandatory educational programs including annual education within the calendar year, safe food servicing training, UPH compliance trainings and other trainings assigned that promote development of position and responsibilities required of position.
Basic UPH Performance Criteria
• Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
• Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
• Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
• Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
• Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
• Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
QualificationsEducation
High School diploma or post-secondary education.
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of work experience in related field.
