UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital is a 204-bed, community hospital serving the Cedar Valley. Allen Hospital is the busiest hospital in the Cedar Valley. We care for more inpatients, outpatients, emergency patients and cardiac patients than any other hospital in our 10-county service area. United Medical Park and Prairie Parkway offer outpatient care in facilities that are built for your comfort and convenience.
PRN Emergency Medicine opportunity at Allen Hospital in Waterloo
Stable group of experienced providers
Nurses have specialty training specific to adult and pediatric emergency care, as well as in trauma and resuscitation
Physician: 0700-1600, 1000-2000, 1500-2400 and 1900-0700
APP: 0600-1800, 1800-0600 and 1200-2400
31 Bed ED with 2 dedicated trauma rooms & 5 bed restricted access behavioral health area
Level 3 Trauma Center
Designated primary stroke center
ED visits average 98 per day, 36,000 annually, 1.8 per hour
Evaluate, interpret and coordinate information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications:
MD or DO
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
