Provide professional clinical services for patients following established practice standards and clinical protocols.

• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Assist provider with patient examination, treatment and minor surgical procedures.
• May perform specimen collection, phlebotomy and specimen analysis.
• Medication and/or vaccine administration.
• Care Coordination via medication refills, prior authorizations and referral scheduling.
• Test result management and tracking as determined by provider.
• Return patient calls and inquiries via phone or patient portal.

Aside from building relationships, exceeding patient expectations and having fun while you work, the following apply:

• Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants or Licensed Practical Nurses.
• Current CMA certification for Certified Medical Assistant from AAMA, NCCT, AMT or NHA* or current LPN license to practice in the State of Iowa.
• *If NHA certified, applicable work experience is accepted.
• High school diploma required if work is performed in a moderately complex CLIA lab.
• BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
• Knowledge of clinical skill techniques, procedures, medical diagnoses, and treatments
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
• A positive and team-oriented attitude
• Ability to assist providers in professional manner
