Clinical Nurse (RN) - Walnut Creek Pediatrics

Float/Triage Nurse Position

Des Moines, Iowa

Mon, Tues, Wed, either 7-4 or 8-5 / Thur off / Fri 7-4 or 8-5

Full-time Benefit Package

This position's primary role is Triage Nurse, and will also float and assist all care teams in the clinic with the following patient care needs. This position will also work as primary for the clinic's NP to start.

• Prepare patients for their provider visit: rooming, vitals, obtaining history and updating medication list.
• Administer routine vaccines.
• Set-up and assist with in-office procedures.
• Draw and collect blood and other samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Administer ordered medications via IM, SQ and Oral routes.
• Care Coordination for testing and referrals.
• Triage and call processing of incoming and outgoing patient communications with timely documentation in Epic.
• Patient education at time of discharge using the After Visit Summary.
• Assist with referral work qeue.
• Referral scheduling.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, and graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa, RN.
• Previous clinical experience in a medical office - pediatrics preferred.
• BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
