UnityPoint Health – Meriter provides convenient, personal care to patients in hospital and clinic settings. UnityPoint Health – Meriter offers community-based inpatient and outpatient psychiatric programs for children and adolescents in South Central Wisconsin. Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) serves young people ages 6-18 with severe behavioral health challenges such as depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and self-harming behaviors.

The treatment team includes child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, licensed psychotherapists, occupational and recreational therapists, social workers, mental health specialists and certified teachers.

  • Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
  • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
Responsibilities
  • Monday – Friday: 75% outpatient/25% inpatient
  • Practice is a mix of inpatient and outpatient
  • Inpatient volume: 4 – 6 patients, outpatient volume: 14 - 16 patients
  • Shared call amongst the providers. Call includes, weekends, and weekday evenings
  • Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
  • Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
  • Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Wisconsin
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
  • Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
