About the Assistant Teacher’s role

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Montessori assistant certificate preferred
• 1 years experience in a Montessori classroom preferred

Professional competencies

• Preparing the environment: Maintaining the prepared environment in which children can explore and engage in meaningful self-directed activities. Preparing materials for students to work with.
• Facilitating work: Assisting the lead teacher in nurturing the academic, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual development of each child in accordance with our school’s faith-based philosophy and Montessori guidelines.
• Observing children: Assisting the lead teacher in observing and keeping daily records of each student’s individual progression in compliance with relevant school protocol.
• Communicating with parents: Communicating with parents through informal interactions. Modeling grace & courtesy. Helping prepare for conferences with parents twice a year.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
