As a key member of the team, you will be part of UnitedHealth Group's mission of helping people live healthier lives. As a Program Manager, you will grow and develop as you conduct and manage outcomes of various studies. You will be challenged to analyze, review, and forecast data for operational and business planning. As part of this elite team, you will be empowered to impact the health care system through the analysis and interpretation of data, and presenting recommendations for business solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end business process activities- creating, controlling and improving business processes
  • Leads a collaborative group of functional leads to document and analyze business processes and make recommendations on how to improve performance and close gaps throughout the enterprise
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of assigned projects and maintains a project management framework that enables a project core team to successfully execute projects
  • Provides Project Management expertise in project planning, execution, and monitoring
  • Maintains and analyzes project schedule and prepares regular status reports for management and key stakeholders
  • Drive Six Sigma quality culture in the organization
  • Responsible for documenting and updating changes to workflow, training plans, policies and procedures
  • Manage full project life cycle including creation, design, specification, development, implementation, and overall change management
  • Identify and analyze trends, strategies and tactics to increase the productivity of the medical operations teams to drive positive performance on organizational key performance metrics and improve the customer experience
  • Identify opportunities for improved scalability of the organization, including opportunities for increased productivity and reduced costs (e.g. streamlined processes, new roles, workload shift)
  • Communicates and provides reports to key stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned with the goals and objectives of the business
  • Identify, develop, and present recommendations; implement approved solutions
  • Manages SharePoint sites created to support key medical group initiatives as well as audit, compile, and analyze data to create reports for Steering Committees
  • Consistently demonstrates and injects their knowledge and abilities to lead initiatives utilizing Six Sigma and/or Lean methodologies

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5 years of Business analysis experience with tracking, planning projects, and making data-driven analytical decisions
  • Experience gathering requirements from the client/business and documenting
  • Experience with process mapping methodology and creating process maps
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to communicate analysis including trends and opportunities to clients and the business in writing and verbally
  • Proven ability to problem solve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/or inaccurate data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Health plan, healthcare or clinic operations experience preferred. Advanced level problem solving capabilities needed to identify issues, and to work on solution designs related to process, and data
  • Proven ability to influence group relationships with diverse geographic locations, skills and level of understanding of company processes and policy
  • Proven ability to collaborate and coordinate work with other team members. Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, organize and complete complex work efforts to meet established objectives
  • Proven excellent written and oral skills

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
