Provider Relations Advocates are moving towards more of a role of training and relationship building versus claims analysis and problem solving.

The candidate needed would have a solid background in being able to handle situations that may not be ideal, de escalation of provider concerns, and spontaneous problem solving abilities.

Communication is the key. Someone who is not afraid to present in front of large crowds, and can develop training models if needed.

If you are located in Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, or Wisconsin, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Develop solid, collaborative business relationships and establish face-to-face interactions with providers, strategic healthcare organizations, physicians, hospitals, health systems, provider and / or hospital organizations, medical societies, hospital associations, and healthcare organization leaders in Wisconsin
  • Assist with and collaborate on progress towards the development and implementation of appropriate payment models with the provider community
  • Actively engage with provider network to build good-will and leverage exceptional business acumen to curate long-term dialogues aimed at deliberately socializing and gaining alignment with Optum direction.

Someone who can communicate and create long standing relationship will also help to ensure that providers maintain a contract within the network

  • Collaborate with network providers to identify and execute on mutually beneficial initiatives that produce measurable outcomes on key administrative performance metrics
  • Implement strategies to support Optum’s relationships with providers to influence providers to act and produce measurable outcomes relative to improving quality, efficiency of care, and administrative performance
  • Provide oversight of activities that support positive physician / hospital relationships with a focus on a data driven, collaborative approach.

Collaborate with network providers to identify and execute on mutually beneficial initiatives that produce

  • measurable outcomes on key administrative performance metrics
  • Network with providers in the community to be the face of the company within the provider community along our strategic partners
  • Foster a culture that values inclusion, respect, and an ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional value to providers
  • Continuously looks for new ways to solve problems, continuously optimizing the services provided and the way it’s delivered
  • Provides a unique environment where each employee is expected to leverage their individual strengths to influence and support the goal of making health care better

Required Qualifications :

  • Experience utilizing MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint at an intermediate level of proficiency
  • Experience presenting to a group
  • Experience working in difficult customer service situations with an ability to de escalate concerns
  • Must live in one of the following states : Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin, or Iowa
